At Jarr Market our mission is to cut down on unnecessary food packaging. All of our shop items are sold packaging-free. Bring your own container, weigh your food and buy only what you need.

We have a wide variety of products at Jarr. From grains to spices and even some sweet treats, we try to cover all of your household needs. Jarr offers plant-based, locally sourced and organic food products, as well as toiletries, cleaning products and re-usable containers.

HOW IT WORKS
Bring in your own containers (jars, tupperware, old shampoo bottles, anything will do as long as they're clean!) or buy one of ours, weigh them while they're still empty, fill up on our products, weigh your container again at the till and pay! It's as easy as that.
We aim to help customers cut down on waste not only by eliminating the need for our products to be packaged but also by allowing customers to take only the amount they need, cutting down on food waste.
We do three main things to cut down on our own waste:
1. Buy in bulk - we buy most of our products in paper sacks of 25kgs, this means we're getting the most amount of product for the least amount of packaging
2. Choose the best suppliers - we prioritise suppliers who are able to supply us in circular closed-loop systems. All of our bulk liquids (oils, toiletries, cleaning products, fertilizer), as well as our coffee and granola are all sent to us in tubs that are sent back when empty (often in electric vans) to be washed and refilled, cutting out waste altogether
3. We recycle properly - we pay extra for any leftover packaging we have to be properly recycled by First Mile, who have a 'zero to landfill' policy.
